Outline of Final Research Achievements	The reseach team visited Korea two times and conducted EPS-TOPIK mock up test over 30 subjects half of whom had taken EPS-TOPIK before embarcation and half of whom had not. The result showed that those who had taken the test showed more progress of Korean language competence than those who had not. The team also visited Indonesian migrant workers' community in Ibaraki prefecture for four times and conducted interviews with some workers and with some Japanese who have network with the Indonesian workers.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements	本研究は日本の技能実習生度と韓国の雇用許可制による外国人の韓国語の習得に焦点を当てて臨地調査を重ねたものである。韓国では、韓国到着前に各自の母国において韓国語の文字と基礎的な韓国語能力の習得を義務付けてている。この制度に焦点を当てて韓国の公的言語テストの妥当性を検証した結果、この公的言語教育・能力測定制度が有効に機能していることを明らかにできた。一方、日本においても同様に技能実習生と対面で日本語能力の測定を行ったが、日本語能力試験と現実の日本語能力の向上に関係があるかどうか明らかにはならなかった。外国人労働者への言語教育についてさらに研究を進める必要のあることが明らかになった。
