| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
6月にソウルで開催されたAAS-in-ASIA 2017において、パネル発表を行った（パネルタイトル：Beyond Comparison: Japan and Its Colonial Empire in Trans-imperial Relations）。本科研グループを代表して、水谷智・難波ちづる・吉田信・西山暁義が参加した（詳細は以下を参照：http://trans-imperial.site/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/854705264f947b42ce5e3e7de1a9f080.pdf）。7月には他の研究会との共催でシンポジウム「＜はざま＞から再考する帝国史」を同志社大学で開催し、本科研からは水谷が司会・報告者として登壇した。駒込武氏による『世界史のなかの台湾植民地支配――台南長老教中学校からの視座』（岩波書店、2015年）について議論することで、本科研が志向する「間-帝国史研究」の可能性を探った。水谷はドイツ人研究者のDaniel Hedinger氏および Nadin Hee氏とともに国際ワークショップIn-Between Empires: Trans-imperial History in a Global Ageを企画し、9月にベルリンで開催されるとそれに参加し、研究報告（‘Indian anti-colonialism in trans-imperial interactions: Tagore, R. B. Bose and their politics of comparison over Japanese colonialism in Korea’）を行った。12月と2月に同志社大学で開催した定例研究会では、事前に配布した植民地主義に関する史料について「間‐帝国」的な視点からメンバー全員で議論した。

今年度の末には同志社大学にて国際ワークショップを開催する予定である。また、昨年度の研究活動の一部を活字化すべく学術雑誌の特集号に投稿を計画している。
