Outline of Annual Research Achievements

2018年度は、引き続きゲート誘起キャリアを利用した励起子生成とバンドギャップ収縮のゲート制御に取り組んだ。
ゲート誘起キャリアを利用した励起子生成では、分割ゲート式ダイオード構造に架橋カーボンナノチューブを組み込んだデバイスを利用して、電界発光の効率向上について知見を得るための実験を進めた。架橋幅・ゲート長・触媒種類および配置などの最適化を進めるためのデバイスを試作して、フォトルミネッセンスおよび電界発光測定を実施した。
バンドギャップ収縮のゲート制御については、昨年度までの研究により大気分子の吸着がバンドギャップ収縮および励起子束縛エネルギーに大きく影響を与えることが明らかとなったため、続いてゲート誘起トリオンへの吸着分子の遮蔽効果について調査を進めた。架橋カーボンナノチューブ電界効果トランジスターを用いて、ゲート電圧を印加することによりキャリアを蓄積させてトリオン状態からの発光を分光し、分子吸着状態と脱離状態における発光エネルギーの変化を計測した。その結果、トリオンの束縛エネルギーに対する大気分子吸着の影響を定量的に明らかにすることができた。また、励起子発光強度のゲート依存性が分子吸着によって変化することを見出し、このデータを解析したところ、分子吸着によるバンドギャップ収縮によって引き起こされている可能性があることが分かった。
さらに大きなバンドギャップ収縮の実験的検証を進めるため、大気分子より大きな遮蔽効果が期待できる有機分子の吸着について調査した。銅フタロシアニンを蒸着し、励起子エネルギーの変化を測定したところ、励起子の基底状態の分子脱離状態からの変化量は最大で大気分子吸着の3倍以上であることが分かった。また、分子吸着によりトリオンが生成されることが明らかになり、銅フタロシアニン分子からナノチューブへの電荷移動が起きていることを示唆する結果となった。
