| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In the second half of the project, I continued to examine key academic texts related to the research project and to collate information, which included a research trip to the Bodleian Library in Oxford in September. I published an article on the Italian commedia dell’arte actor, Scaramouche, and his impact on the seventeenth-century English stage in the “Annual Bulletin of the Johnson Society” (Spring 2018) and I also presented at a conference organized by the Johnson Society of Japan in July 2017; where I was able to receive critical feedback and establish new relationships with scholars in the field.
