Outline of Final Research Achievements

We have devised a method to realize an overlay network that consists of Web browsers. The proposed method does not require a central server. Using this method, we also have developed a scalable key-order preserving structured overlay network, Kirin. Furthermore, we have demonstrated that a Twitter-like distributed microblogging service can be implemented on Kirin. We have implemented these methods in TypeScript and have confirmed that it works properly. The implementation is released as open source software on GitHub.

本研究を用いることで，Webサーバと，そのWebサーバにアクセスしているブラウザ群を協調動作させることが可能となる（例えば，Webサーバが提供するコンテンツを他のブラウザからも取得することでWebサーバの負荷をオフロードするなど）．
また，本研究のオーバーレイネットワークは大規模災害時の避難所や発展途上国の学校など，インターネットへの到達性がない環境での情報の共有に利用できる．
さらに，サーバが不要であることから，耐検閲性を有するコミュニケーション手段として利用できる．
