Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Through a data analysis of post-war opera performances in Japan, which constitutes the starting point of this study, we clarify the actual conditions of how the foreign opera culture was introduced in the cultural climate of Japan. By observing the results of the analysis conducted, we were able to obtain sufficient visual resources to substantiate a description of the acceptance of opera in Japan. Moreover, we compared the material collected through data analysis in chronological order, with the works of Mr Ryotaro Mitsubayashi, one of the leading artists of opera art in post-war Japan. We thereby created and examined visual materials that provide an overview of changes in the acceptance of opera from the perspective of stage art.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
