| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, among the Neo-Impressionist painters I studied about Maximilian Luce, who has not yet been studied so much, focucing on his representaion of Paris.I wrote a paper about this. In addition, I researched a wide range of paintings, representing the 19th and 20th centuries in Paris, New York, Tokyo, and Seoul, and published articles about them.
I also had opportunities to held some international symposiums and workshops inviting researchers from overseas. I invited some professors from the City University of New York, the Free University of Brussels, the Hanyang University of Korea, and the Sungkyunkwan University of Korea, and also a curator from the Rijksmuseum and could exchange ideas with them.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
新印象派の研究については、研究の少なかったマクシミリアン・リュスについてとりあげられた意義は大きい。とくに都市表象の研究においては、周辺の画家との関連から考察することで、より幅広い意味を持たせることができた。また、多様な都市表象の研究を、一般の人たちを対象とした雑誌に執筆できたことは、美術史研究の成果の社会還元として、意味があったと考える。
さらに、海外からの研究者の招聘によるシンポジウムや研究会の開催については、日本の研究者との学術交流の場として重要であっただけでなく、学生たちにも海外の研究者と意見交換する場を提供することとなり、とりわけ意義深いものであった。
