| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
動物と現代芸術をめぐる本研究は、芸術と環境、人間と動物の関係が科学技術の進展とともにどのように変容したのかを哲学、人類学、社会学、自然科学の知見を横断しながら明らかにすることを目指している。最終年度である2018年度はこれまで過去2年間の文献、資料調査およびインタビュー調査を整理し、論点をまとめるとともに、その成果を国際学会ないし研究会で発表した。具体的には、2018年7月にスペインで開催されたInternational Conference on Environmental Humanities Stories, Myths, and Arts to Envision a Changeにおいて"Frankenstein’s Cat” and Beyond: Animal, Art and Technology"を、8月にはフィンランドで開催された(Un)Common Worlds Human-Animal Studies Conference にて"Animal, Art and Bio-technology in the Era of Anthropocene "及び中国で開催されたCrossroads in Cultural Studies, Association for Cultural Studiesにおいて"Bio-Art and After：Medium in the Transhuman Age"を発表し、そのいくつかを論考としてまとめ刊行した。10月以降は拠点をベルリンに移し、資料収集、アーティスト、美術館、博物館へのインタビュー調査を行い、貴重な知見を得ることができた。成果については別途に記載するが、共著4冊、論考3本、翻訳１本、国際学会での発表６本、その他一般向けのエッセイ等を執筆した。また本研究の集大成として書籍化するための検討を行った。
