Study of very high energy gamma-ray emission region and emission mechanism in non-blazar active galactic nuclei

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

2018年度は,MAGIC 望遠鏡により,多波長同時観測キャンペーン期間を含めて19夜39.84時間,M87 の観測を行った.その結果250GeV 以上で,8.43 σのガンマ線信号を検出し,平均の積分フラックスとして,350GeV 以上で,(1.65±0.28)×10^-12 cm^-2s^-1を得た.この間M87は基本的に静穏期にあり,日毎の積分フラックスはほとんどの夜が上限値で,光度曲線に有意な変動は検出できなかった.しかしながら,多波長観測のキャンペーン期間中,MAGIC が天候不良により観測できなかった期間に,他の大気チェレンコフ望遠鏡グループから提供されたconfidential data(公開不可)から,超高エネルギーガンマ線の放射領域サイズとしてシュワルツシルト半径の2 δ倍(δはビーミング因子) という上限値を得た.一方,MAGICで得られた100GeV~6TeVの範囲のスペクトルエネルギー分布(SED)は単一の冪関数で表すことができて,べきΓ=-2.56 ± 0.13 を得た.また,2008 年から2018 年までの10 年間のM87方向からのFermi-LATガンマ線データの解析を行った結果,100MeV から300GeVの間をべきΓ=-2.03 ± 0.03 の冪関数で表せて,100GeV でスペクトルに明らかな折れ曲がりが見られた.さらに詳しく見ると,20GeV付近にディップが見られた.1 ゾーンSSC モデルでGeV 領域のべきとTeV 領域のフラックスを同時に説明することは難しく,Spine-Layer モデル等を適用することによって観測されたSED をよく説明できることがわかった.放射領域の特定については,現在EHTの解析結果の提供を待っている段階である.
