Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We have established the design basis on nonlinear electrokinetic phenomena (NEKP) based on a direct multi-physics method. In particular,(1)we clarified fundamental problems of NTKP concerning phase delay effects and high ion concentration phenomena. (2)We clarified fundamental problems of a diffused ion system (i.e., an ion-conserving modified Poisson-Boltzmann theory and an edge vortex flow problem) related to NTKP. (3)We recognized new NTKP due to a current mode resulting from a chemical reaction at the electrodes.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
非線形界面動電現象の主要な問題への理解が進み、マイクロ流体技術に応用し小型血液診断システムや小型遺伝子診断システム等へ発展させるための準備が整った。具体的には、1)標準理論からずれる主因がわかり応用デバイスを理論設計できる道が開かれた。2)前提となる拡散イオン系の基礎問題の理解が進み、技術の全体像の理解が進んだ。3)電極反応がある場合の電流モードによる現象について理解が進み、新たな動作モードに よる応用デバイスへの道が開かれた。
