Outline of Final Research Achievements

In multiple impinging jets in which a large number of impinging jets are arranged, since strong interference occurs between the individual jets, the formation of cross flow, the reduction of heat transfer performance due to the large circulating flow generated between the jets, and non-uniform distribution of heat transfer on the impinging wall occur. In order to solve these problems comprehensively, we developed an active control method such as pulsating jet and blooming jet using in-house DNS(Direct Numerical Simulation) code. Further, we also developed a simulation technology for multiphase flow.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

これまでは単独の衝突噴流に関する制御や,多重衝突噴流の干渉に関する影響評価に関する研究は行われてきているが,多数の衝突噴流を能動的に制御する試みはほとんどない。また,DNS (Direct Numerical Simulation)を用いた詳細な検討も多重衝突噴流の場合に関してはほとんど行われていない。本研究で検討した能動的な噴流制御は,一般の工学機器における伝熱特性の改善に貢献できると考えられる。
