Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究は,強毒性鳥インフルエンザパンデミック時の被害を最小限に抑えるため,その主となる感染ルートである飛沫核感染(空気感染)において,感染メカニズムの解明と予防策(ワクチン)を流体力学的観点から追究することを目的としてる.具体的には気流計算にウイルス学に基づくパラメータおよび周辺環境の詳細な情報を取り込むことで,著しく高い精度でのインフルエンザウイルスの振る舞いを捉えてきた.まず室内流れにおいては計算格子の非構造化によりヒト形状の忠実な再現と,アクティブな境界条件の設定により咳やくしゃみによる些細な気流変化の導入を行った.またヒト気道内流れにおいては,移動格子法による肺呼吸の正確な再現を実施し,ウイルスの異なる飛沫径毎の着床部位の特定にまで至った.特に本年度は室内気流を制御することでその感染率の低下を狙う流体工学ワクチンの開発に注力した.ワクチン開発には計算速度を向上させることで効率的なケーススタディを行うことが重要である.そのためCPUベースおよびGPUベースの並列計算について検討を行った.CPUベースについては主にOpenMP,MPIおよびOpenMP/MPIハイブリッド型について,またGPUベースについてはOpenACC+MPIによる並列化である.結論から述べるとGPUベースについては工学ワクチンのケーススタディには不向きであり,CPUベースの方が効率的であった.さらに室内流と気道流を連続的に計算する手法については,境界部の接続も含め概ね完成させることができた.
