Outline of Annual Research Achievements

To study mechanisms underlying termination of tangential neuronal migration, we performed RNA-seq transcriptome profiling and functional analyses of adhesion molecule CNTN2. We have identified several candidate genes and demonstrated the involvement of a pair of transcription factors. We have also unveiled a role of CNTN2 in chain migration and an importance of its down-regulation by secretases for proper termination.
