Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In 2017 the soil samples was gathered and the analysis started followed by the analysis of bacterial and fungal community in the fruit orchards from the whole Japan. In parallel, the soil enzymatic activity and chemical properties were also evaluated. Partial results indicated a higher microbial diversity and activity in northern Japan.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
Everything is going as planed initially. All soil chemical and microbiological properties were evaluated. This coming year other microbiological and soil chemical analysis will be performed. Also the script was built according to our will.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
Part of the data will be presented in local and international conferences this year. The microbial biomass (C, N, P and K) will be determined and other soil enzymes will be determined. Also some data about soil pollution, including heavy metal analysis will be carried out too in order to complete the research. After all data is gathered, the statistical analysis with the appropriate individual and group correlations (matrix) will be done. And the relationship between soil chemical (fertility and pollution), microbiological (diversity and composition) will be evaluated in order to map the data of Japanese fruit orchards at national scale in terms of soil properties. Also the script will be improved to be more accessible for the normal user.

Remarks |
Part of the data was presented during the undergraduate students speech for their thesis. The metagenome and enzymes data, including the relationship to soil chemistry were shown in two speeches.
