Outline of Final Research Achievements

It is important to know the history of past surgery when a patient who has undergone strabismus surgery in the past becomes an adult and sees a doctor. Conversely, in children, assuming that undergo multiple surgeries in the future, less invasive surgical method is desirable to choose. Advances various diagnostic imaging methods and hand-held intraocular pressure gauges make it possible to easily know the changes in the shape of the eyeball after strabismus surgery.
In this study, we thought that it was possible to clarify the past surgical history of strabismus patients with unknown treatment history by investigating the effect of strabismus surgery on the eyeball by using these diagnostic tools. As a result, a new strabismus operation was performed, and it led to the progress of the treatment method.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
