Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In the academic year 2019, I have achieved the following research activities: 1. I conducted a community survey of 650 responses in four towns in Fukushima Prefectures: Fukushima City, Koriyama, Kitakata, and Aizu. The survey examined residents' connectedness to their neighborhood communication resources, mainstream and local media use, collective efficacy, stigma perception, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and future outlook. 2. I presented two papers at the International Communication Association Annual Convention (Washington D.C.) in May, 2019. One paper was based on an online survey I conducted in Fukushima in January, 2019 and the other was based on a survey in Shinchimachi, Fukushima. 3. I published two articles in international journals. 4. I conducted a survey in March 2020 regarding people's media use and social understanding under the COVID-19 pandemic situation.
