Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Communication by eye gaze is a common practice. But what are we looking at through our eyes? How we gather meaning with our eyes. There have been many experiments on eye trackers for still pictures, but there is little discussion about continuous frame pictures like manga. In this study, we use a gaze measurement system (eye trucking system) to have a comic watching rule research on the screen. This system records the position, movement, and time of the gaze movement. The viewer continues reading the manga on the screen without consciousness what he is watching and turn the page. The following was found through this experiment.(1)Focus on the center of the screen(page).(2)Watch Following the speech balloon.(3)There is a tendency not to gaze at the background.(4)Search for people at first.(5)Gaze the face(mainly eye, mouth).(6)Sometimes return to the previous page to confirm the development of the plot.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
