Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In recent years, we have found many people's increasing concern regarding food safety issue. In response to those interests, we need to think more and more how to bring safety measures as urgent problems the nation facing with. Thus, in this research, we have traced the various measures taken in the United States. Especially, we have strong focus on the newly legal area called Food Law & Policy. Though Food Law & Policy is a newly developing legal area, many U.S. law Schools put Food Law & Policy courses on their curriculum. Along with it, we have also tried to analyze a new federal food safety related statute, namely Food Safety Modernizing Act. As to the situation in Japan, we have had many interviews with local government officials in charge of food safety issues.
