Outline of Annual Research Achievements

昨年度に引き続き初年度に開発した DC-OPA レーザーシステムを使用して THz パルス(最大波長 15 マイクロメーター:um) の発生実験を行った.DC-OPA から出力されたチャープしたシグナル光 (1 - 1.6 um) 及びアイドラー光 (1.6 - 2.2 um) を用いた差周波発生により THz 発生をおこなった.広帯域且つ高効率な差周波発生を実現する為,ポンプとして用いるシグナル及びアイドラー光の分散量だけでなく符号の最適化も行い,波長変換特性のデーターを収集した.AgSe 結晶において,結晶内部におけるポンプ光の二光子吸収過程により変換効率の悪化が見られたことから,AgS 結晶を用いた DC-OPA を本光源開発の発生法として採用した.現在,AgS 結晶において 3 % に迫るの変換効率が実現されており,出力エネルギーとして 100 マイクロジュール が 30 THz 域において得られている.最終年度により大口径の AgS 結晶を調達できたことから,これまでの予備実験から得られた出力スケーリングパラメーターを使用して,ミリジュールクラスの THz 発生に現在取り組んでいる.また得られた THz チャープパルスを時間圧縮するための固体媒質の選定も完了した.
さらに 3 - 4 um 帯において高強度中赤外超短パルスを得る為,MgO 結晶を媒質とした DC-OPA 実験にも並行して取り組み, 5 % の変換効率でパルスエネルギー30 ミリジュール, 70 フェムト秒のパルス幅を実現した.さらに大気中に集光する事により高調波の発生を確認した.
