Outline of Annual Research Achievements

クリーンで無尽蔵な太陽光の有効利用は、CO2排出量削減や持続可能な低炭素社会実現に不可欠であり、低価格で高効率な太陽電池の開発が望まれている。色素増感太陽電池は低価格、大面積でフレキシブル、カラー化が可能などの特長を有しており、次世代太陽電池として有望である。高効率化のためには、表面積が大きく、かつ電子寿命が高い光半導体電極合成と白金対極に変わる安価で高い触媒機能を有する材料の開発が課題である。
2018年度は(1) 水熱合成法による窒素添加グラフェン膜上Ni-Mo-S (Ni-Mo-S@NG)、窒素添加グラフェン膜上Cu-Mo-S (Cu-Mo-S@NG)、窒素添加グラフェン膜上Co-Mo-S(Co-Mo-S@NG)結晶合成と(2) 形状、サイズ、構造、光吸収特性、発光特性、電子状態、触媒効果等の特性評価及び(3)色素増感太陽電池特性を調べた。
Ni-Mo-S@NG は電気化学特性の酸化ピーク電圧と還元ピーク電圧の差(382 mV)が白金(450 mV)やCu-Mo-S@NG (421 mV)よりも小さく、触媒効果が高いことが示された。また、市販のニ酸化チタン(P25)を光半導体電極、N719色素を用いて、これらを対極とした色素増感太陽電池を作製し、光電変換効率を測定した結果、Ni-Mo-S@NGを用いた場合の変換効率は2.85 %、Cu-Mo-S@NGを用いた場合は2.62 %であり、白金(2.41 %)と同程度の値が得られた。さらに、エチレンジアミンを被膜剤とし、Co-Mo-S@NGフラワー構造結晶を合成し、触媒効果および光電変換効率を測定した。光電変換効率は1.12 %であり、Ni-Mo-S@NGやCu-Mo-S@NGと比べ低い値であった。これは、Co-Mo-S結晶下地のグラフェンの欠陥が高いことが要因であった。本研究は、窒素添加グラフェン膜上へそれぞれNi-Mo-S、Cu-Mo-S、Co-Mo-S結晶を合成し、白金の代替材料としての可能性を明らかにした。
