Outline of Final Research Achievements

In this study, we have developed the web server "LncRRIsearch" containing lncRNA-RNA interactions comprehensively predicted using primary sequences and expression profiles derived from large scale RNA-seq experiment. Our preliminary study using this web server implies the relationship between nuclear body formation and lncRNA-RNA base-pairing interactions.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

ヒトの生体内には数万種類にも及ぶ機能未知の長鎖ノンコーディングRNA（lncRNA）が様々な体組織で特異的に発現し、複雑な分子間相互作用のネットワークを形成し、多様な生体制御を実現していると考えられている。本研究では、分子間相互作用の観点からlncRNAの機能を明らかにするために、lncRNAの分子間相互作用を配列および実験データから高精度に予測し、ヒトおよびマウスの全てのlncRNAの相互作用を網羅したWebサーバー（http://rtools.cbrc.jp/LncRRIsearch/）として公開した。これにより、lncRNAの機能解析研究を加速することが期待される。
