Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this research is to explore and insist the importance of “International Entrepreneurship” in the context of internationalization of Japanese SMEs such as parts suppliers, traditional craft enterprises and food companies. We especially focus on the relationships between SMEs and public institution to realize foreign market entries. Applying the above viewpoints. We assessed case studies with semi-structured interviews on top-managers in Japanese SMEs. We exploratorily found that components of international entrepreneurship, efficacy, serendipity, effectual logics, global mindset, grid and intrinsic motivation, drove many of Japanese top-managers realized into trade with oversea companies especially in western countries. In addition, using micro-data, we tried to answer our research questions empirically. Finally, we attempted to connect our findings with recent theories of family business and employee entrepreneurial behaviors for next research.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
