Outline of Annual Research Achievements

2019年度は主に，(1) 視線速度法による低温度星まわりの系外惑星探査のための方法論の開拓，(2) 低温度星を公転する太陽系外惑星の特徴付け，を実施した。以下ではそれぞれについて具体的に述べる。
(1) 視線速度法による低温度星まわりの系外惑星探査のための方法論の開拓
2017年にすばる望遠鏡に搭載された近赤外高分散分光器IRDで取得したエンジニアリングデータを解析し，近赤外における高精度視線速度測定のための方法論（パイプライン）のテストと改良を行った。また，IRDによるすばる戦略枠観測で得られた晩期M型矮星のスペクトルデータも解析することで，高精度視線速度測定によって系外惑星惑星候補が見つかるなど惑星探査においても一定の成果が得られた。
(2) 低温度星を公転する太陽系外惑星の特徴付け
近赤外分光器IRDで取得したTRAPPIST-1と呼ばれるトランジット惑星を持つ最も低温な恒星のスペクトルデータを解析し，TRAPPIST-1をまわる惑星の軌道，大気の特徴付けを実施した。トランジット分光観測によりロシター効果と呼ばれる現象を検出し，TRAPPIST-1を公転する7つの惑星のうちの3つの惑星の軌道傾斜角を制限した。結果としてTRAPPIST-1系では恒星の自転軸と惑星の公転軸がそろっている可能性が高いことを示した。また，同じデータを用いて近赤外域（1083nm付近）にあるヘリウム三重線の吸収線を解析し，透過光分光法によって惑星大気におけるヘリウムの追加吸収を制限した。これらはTRAPPIST-1をまわる地球型系外惑星の起源を探る上で貴重な観測的な制限となる。
