太陽から恒星へ：シミュレーションと観測に基づく普遍的な黒点・フレア理論の構築

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究課題の初年度である平成28年度は、太陽活動領域に関して以下に挙げる2件の観測的研究を実施した。
はじめに、活動領域のうち、特に「太陽フレア」と呼ばれる突発的エネルギー解放現象を生じやすい領域について、衛星観測データをもとに統計解析を行った。米国SDO衛星による太陽全面の長期観測データを用いることで、(1)フレアの時間スケールと活動領域内部の磁場構造との相関関係、(2)コロナ質量放出と呼ばれる現象に関して発生の可否を決定づけるパラメータの候補、を明らかにし、(3)フレアを生じやすい活動領域の構造を明らかにした。さらに、(4)太陽における巨大フレアの可能性について議論を行った。成果は英文査読論文として公表したほか、国際・国内学会で報告した。また、SDO衛星HMI望遠鏡の開発グループと新学術領域「太陽地球圏環境予測」のweb記事として、それぞれ採用された。
次に、活動領域が太陽表面に出現する際の小規模エネルギー解放現象について、複数の衛星による共同観測データを用いた研究を実施した。日本の「ひので」衛星による高精度の光球磁場観測と、米国の「IRIS」衛星による彩層の紫外線スペクトル観測を組み合わせ、小規模エネルギー解放に関与する磁場構造や、その物理過程を解明した。成果は英文査読論文として公表したほか、国際・国内学会で報告した。
これらの研究は、観測面から太陽活動領域に形成過程、フレア発生過程のメカニズムに迫る成果である。

Reason

当初計画では、平成28年度にはシミュレーション研究を行う予定としていたが、観測研究の進展が当初以上に見込まれたため、計画を変更しこちらを主に実施した。その結果、英文査読論文を2本出版することができた。したがって、本研究課題は初年度としては順調であり、「当初の計画以上に進展している」と評価した。平成29年度は、ここで行った観測研究の結果を活用したシミュレーション研究を実施する。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

本研究課題の2年度目となる平成29年度は、当初計画で初年度に行うとしていたフレア活動領域の数値シミュレーション研究を重点的に実施する。平成28年度に観測研究が大きく進展し、フレア活動領域に関する知見が得られた。そこで平成29年度には、これらを活用したシミュレーションを行う。また、平成28年度に実施した観測的研究の成果をもとに、複数の関連研究を計画している。国内・海外の研究者との共同研究も含め、本研究課題から発展的に派生した課題であり、こちらにも取り組みたい。
