Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、中空コアを有する新規星型高分子錯体「高分子グラフトMOP」を生み出し、その大面積かつ三次元的配列により、物質透過・分離・変換を実現する高機能メンブレンの開発を目指すものである。
平成28年度の成果:MOP表面よりリビング重合を開始する新手法を開発し、MOPを中心として合計24本の高分子が分岐した高分子グラフトMOPの合成に成功した(Divergent法と名付けた)。さらに別手法の開拓も進めた結果、MOPの自己組織化的形成反応を利用するという逆転のアプローチにより、全く同様の高分子グラフトMOPを非常に簡単に合成する手法を開発した(Convergent法と名付けた。後者の方法は、高分子と金属イオンを溶液中で混ぜるだけで、任意の構造の高分子グラフトMOPを構築できる点で、大量合成に非常に有用な手法である。Convergent法はグラフトさせる高分子を選ばないため、あらゆる高分子をMOP表面より分岐させることが可能となった。
平成29年度の成果:まずは二酸化炭素/窒素の分離性能をベンチマークとして評価するため、メンブレン作成に適した高分子を選出し、その高分子をグラフトさせた高分子グラフトMOPを上記手法により合成した。その物質からメンブレンを作成し、二酸化炭素/窒素の分離試験を行ったところ、高分子だけからなる参照用メンブレンと比較して、高分子グラフトMOPのメンブレンは10倍の二酸化炭素選択性を示した。さらに、本高分子グラフトMOPを他の既存ガス分離膜と混合することで、その分離性能を向上させることにも成功した。続けて変換機能についても検討するため、MOPコア内部への触媒担持を試みた。
本研究では、中空コアを有する星型高分子錯体「高分子グラフトMOP」を利用して、高機能のガス分離膜が合成可能であることを示し、物質変換機能についても触媒担持手法の可能性を探った。
