Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Malignant tumors, especially squamous cell carcinomas of the oral cavity, include smoking, alcohol consumption, and other physical stimuli as risk factors for the development of cancer. Recently, it has been shown that TRP (transient receptor potential) ion channels, which are receptors for physical stimulation, are expressed in the epithelial system. We have analyzed the correlation between TRP and carcinogenesis to prevent carcinogenesis and to control tumor progression in cancer-bearing patients.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
