Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Between April,2016 to March 2017, i extensively reviewed existing studies reviews, reports and guidelines on maternal/patient experience, on maternal health and health utilization and quality of care. I studied methodology details of previous “Listening to mothers’ surveys “(LTM) in USA, Canada and Japan. Methodology (study site and sampling of participants) and survey tool (translation of questionnaire of LTM, USA) of the current survey has been developed. To enhance my knowledge on methodology and analysis of the survey, I attend a seminar and had meeting with experts for consultation. Qualitative study of small group of women was conducted to explore their experiences pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum and health support and care.

1: Research has progressed more than it was originally planned.
Reason
It will be first comprehensive survey on women’s childbirth experience in Mongolia, therefore great interest and support were received from my counterpart and officials from Mongolia . In addition, there were great support from core teams of LTM-Japan on the survey methodology and questionnaire development.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
During April 2017- March 2018, the study will be implemented. I am planning to conducted in Ulaanbaatar, capital city, recruiting 750 women aged 18 to 45 years, have given birth one year prior to the study. Ulaanbaatar has 9 districts and 132 sub-districts. To get representative sample, 3-4 sub-districts from all 9 district will be selected. Number of sample from each district and sub-districts will be calculated proportion to population size

The survey questionnaire translation were not completed, thus its expense is not paid.
