Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Many disaster victims moved from prefabricated temporary housing (kasetsu juutaku) to permanent replacement housing, five years after the Great East Japan Earthquake. Now the people, however, have been facing to a new challenge, rebuilding of local community. The study revealed that many religious readers, such as Buddhist priests, Shinto priests and Christian clergy, and religious organization had a role of restoring local communities, comparing to the post-quake situation of the Great Hanshin Earthquake. Then I categorized the religious leaders / organizations into “resident-type” / ”visitor-type” and denominational nature, analyzed their activities and its sustainability qualitatively. In addition, I tried to develop and implement an educational programs which college students learn the way of rebuilding local community from those findings of the study.
