3次元TEMによるブロック共重合体ミクロ相分離構造の格子欠陥と粒界構造の研究

Research Abstract

1. 我々はComplex Phase Windowと呼ばれる狭い組成領域にあるポリスチレン-ポリイソプレン(PS-b-PI)ジブロック共重合体単体が弱偏斥下でFddd構造という斜方晶系に属しFddd空間群の対称性を持つ共連続構造を熱平衡構造として形成することを発見したことを既に報告しているが、平成20年度は温度変化に伴うラメラ構造からFddd構造へ、さらにIa3d空間群の対称性を持つ共連続構造であるGyroid構造へと変化する秩序-秩序転移過程の観察を行った。その結果ラメラ-Fddd構造転移ではFddd構造形成が同時多発的に進行するためFddd構造の小さなグレインが生成するが、Fddd構造-Gyroid構造転移ではGyroid構造の核形成が稀少であるため、Gyroid構造の大きいグレインが生成することを確認した。この現象は平成19年度の成果で報告したPS-b-PIジブロック共重合体/ポリスチレンホモポリマー混合系におけるPerforated Layer(PL)構造からGyroid構造が形成される際に観察された現象と類似しており興味深い。
2. ポリスチレン-ポリイソプレン-ポリジメチルシロキサン(PS-b-PI-b-PDMS)トリブロック共重合体は3成分に対し同等の親和性を持つ良溶媒が存在しないため、溶液からのフィルムキャスト過程において二段階のミクロ相分離が起こる。そのため、一段階目のミクロ相分離で形成されたPDMSの構造が二段階目のPS/PI間のミクロ相分離に与えられる空間を制限し、自由空間における3成分同時のミクロ相分離では出現しえない複雑な共連続構造の出現を確認している。しかし、PDMSドメインには構造欠陥の出現が頻繁に認められ、これは3成分のミクロ相分離後に引き続き起こるPSドメインで制限された空間でのPI/PDMSの再配列によると考えられる。キャスト過程をうまく制御できれば構造欠陥の出現が解消できる。
