Research Abstract

本研究は、本研究室で開発した「イオンビーム誘起法CVD (IBICVD)によるナノ磁性粒子の作成とその磁性」に関する研究である。特に今まで明らかにされていなかった高い磁気異方性を有するFePt系合金ナノ粒子を対象として研究を行うものである。今年度はFePt等に加えて、一次相転移を示すFeRh系合金ナノ粒子の作成と磁性の解明をも行った。平成20年度は最終年度に当たることから、本研究の目的であるナノ磁性粒子の特性の総合的纏めを行った。平成20年度の主な結果を以下要約する。
1. IBICVD法において、ナノ粒子一個の磁性を評価するための「ホール効果測定デバイス」装置の試作を昨年から継続して行い、これを完成した。この装置は、最大印加磁界2テスラ、磁界自動掃引方式であり、直径約数十nmの微粒子の磁性の測定が可能となった。FePt等の微粒子について、この本測定法の結果と磁界勾配型磁気力計のそれと合わせて総合的に比較検討した結果、個々の粒子の抗磁力のメカニズムが明らかになった。
2.本IBICVD法によるFeRhナノ粒子の作成を試みたが、分子ガスとして用いた化学素材の融点が高く、試料作成に再現性が得られず、より正確に作成条件を制御する必要があることが判明した。今後の検討課題である。
3.自己組織化学法で作製したナノ粒子の磁性についての研究を行った。その結果、FeRhについては、直径3〜10nmのナノ粒子の再現性よく、作成することに世界で初めて成功した。これらのナノ粒子は、約100C付近に相転移を示した。さらにFeRh/FePt等の複合ナノ粒子の作成に成功し、磁気交換相互作用を始めとする磁性に明らかにした。
上記の成果は、国際磁気学会(平成20年5月、米国カリフォルニア州)等の国際会議で成果報告を行うとともに、IEEE Transaction on Magnetics等の国際的に評価の高い学術誌に掲載している。
