| Research Abstract |
ウガンダのチンパンジーを対象に、食物環境の季節変化とそれに対するチンパンジーの遊動とグルーピングのパターン、採食行動の変化を調べ、これらの関係をモデル化した。さらに、コンゴ民主共和国のボノボとタンザニアのチンパンジーについても同様の調査を行いこのモデルに当てはめて考えることにより、環境の地域変異に対応する適応機構を調べた。また、これらの成果と、化石人類に関する近年の研究成果をつきあわせ、ヒト科の共通祖先の生息環境についての検討を進めた。
