| Research Abstract |
古代宮都、とくにわが国最初の計画都市である飛鳥・藤原京について、環境史の視点から個々の資料・史料を分析したところ、様々な都市問題、環境問題が発生していたことが具体的に明らかとした。そして、王権は平城京・長岡京・平安京へと遷都を繰り返す中で、それらの問題に対処していたのではないかと考えた。すなわち、環境問題が遷都の原因のひとつとなった可能性を考えた。
