Research Abstract |
This study aims at revealing how various educational and welfare institutions are related to one another, how the professional knowledge is utilized in these schemes, and how we can develop the professional knowledge in those to be involved in the interrelated schemes. First, we have provided historical as well as theoretical overviews on the interrelationship among various educational and welfare institutions. We have tried to reveal some possible issues and problems from the viewpoints of pedagogy, history of education, educational welfare theory, educational sociology, and childcare studies. Second, our discussion centers on some of the issues of interrelationship among institutions. Here our targets include children's nursing home, senior part-time high schools, support centers for intellectually handicapped people, and liaisons between kindergartens and nursery schools, and so on. Through these studies, we are able to show how interrelated schemes are being carried out among institutions and some possible problems these schemes face. Third, we have proposed some of the possible measures to improve our curriculum for training students based on the current issues and problems these interrelated schemes proved to possess. Our proposals are based on the studies on the relationship between teacher training courses and local educational centers, support programs for better information education, educational endeavors in terms of the community development, the role of families in education, and so on.
