| Research Abstract |
自然環境中の全微生物のうち、人類が培養できるものは1%程度といわれている。そこで、残り99%の微生物の持つDNAを自然界から直接精製し、これを用いて新規プラスチック分解遺伝子の取得を行った。得られた新規遺伝子をさらに進化工学によって改変し、機能を強化した。これを用いてプラスチックの分解(モノマー化)を行い,プラスチックのバイオケミカルサイクルへの道を開いた。
