Research Abstract

レーザープラズマ真空紫外光源を整備, 改造し, 同時に二つの異なる波長で試料を励起できる実験装置を完成した.低温面に凝縮した希ガス固体表面の上に作成した水クラスター, および水とメタン, 二酸化炭素等の複合クラスターを標的として, 真空紫外線励起により起こる脱離現象を観測し, 脱離種とその励起エネルギー依存性を系統的に調べた.その結果, 水クラスターについてはプロトンの付加したクラスター(分子数20程度まで)の脱離が優勢であること, それらがバルク氷の破砕生成物ではなく, 希ガス固体表面で孤立したクラスターがほぼそのまま脱離すること, 希ガスの励起を吸収してイオン化と脱離を起こすこと, などを明らかにした.水とメタンとの複合クラスターでは, クラスターのイオン化の際に, 水とメタンのどちらの分子がイオン化されるかによって, 脱離種の分子構成に違いが現れることを示唆する結果を得た.また真空紫外線によって起きたと思われる光化学反応により, メチルアルコール, エタンと思われる分子種を脱離イオンの中から見いだした.この生成過程の詳細は今後の研究課題である.
