Research Abstract

独自に開発したコードを用いた大規模計算機シミュレーションによって、磁場閉じ込め核融合プラズマにおける巨視的輸送現象を、プラズマを構成する粒子がどこに、どのような速度で、どのくらい存在するかを表す関数-いわゆる分布関数-の構造という微視的レベルから捉えることに成功した。特に、ヘリカル型核融合プラズマの閉じ込め性能向上につながる有用な理論的指針が示され、乱流輸送シミュレーションによりその妥当性がはじめて確認された。
