| Research Abstract |
熱帯雨林の林冠の最上層を形成する林冠木においては、着生植物、樹木の分枝構造、枯死部分の分布、樹上(空中)土壌・枯れ枝・樹洞などの巣場所好適空間の樹内分布がそこに生息するアリ類群集の空間利用様式を大きく規定していることが示された。また、林冠部に大きななわばりを形成する攻撃性の強いアリ種が、林冠部の植食性昆虫の量、アリ類の種類構成、およびつる植物の量に大きな影響を与えることが実証的に示された。
