| Research Abstract |
The study is broadcasting and Internet services (broadband service) island is especially in large cities prefectural capital of more than 300km away from the remote island (this research is far-defined and Outlying Islands), the service is adequate to achieve, if it is a network of residents and industrial structure, what kind of impact to the research. Local areas are surveyed using the following criteria. (1) distance communication in the most disadvantaged areas (2) distance communication in the population of disadvantaged bigger cost is expected to improve early (3) region between the two intermediate nature of the regions, the three categories, A comparative study of regionality. As a result, (1) County, south of north Daito district as Okinawa Prefecture, (2) Yaeyama district as Okinawa Prefecture, (3) Zamami district as Okinawa Prefecture, are extracted. The survey was conducted from people following interviews were conducted. Local government departments, information technology-related companies (carriers, cable television, Community FM), the local Chamber of officials, educators and local residents. Okinawa Prefecture during the survey period island wide broadband plan being promoted by the end of fiscal year 2008 and plans to complete the study of the project and parallel progress in the investigation. Broadband Internet is following the progress of the consequences are evident. In particular, tourism and resources of the regions in the broadband before, a visitor to the region office needs to broadband was a factor. In addition, local residents have been relocated to a broadband factors requested by the office. However, length of residence in a different configuration by the residents of the area, the residents of broadband usage is different.
