Research Abstract |
This is a study of the relation between the transcendental philosophy and art by the clue of art theorty of Adorno and Derrida, who parted from the transcendental philosophy. We focus on three points. First, why did Derrida refer the significance of transcendental in his art theory after the part from transcendental philosophy? Second, how do the art theories of Adorno and Derrida have the relation with their parts from the transcendental? And last, what new viewpoints concerning things other than art does the quasi-transcendental, which is the new name of transcendental in Derrida after the inspection of the limit of the transcendental philosophy by art? This study answers these three questions from four points. 1 Many philosophers in 20c thought art as the important clue to overcome the limit of the transcendental philosophy. 2 Derridas art theory shows us that transcendence of art is the experience of impossibility by cutting of writing to abyss. 3 Adornos art theory shows us that transcendence of art in Beethoven is to overcome the classical Sonata-form with development part, but composers after Beethoven were confronted with the impossibility of Sonata-form, 4 Through art theory Derrida achieves the idea of quasi-transcendetal, which includes not only the condition of possibility but also impossibility.
