Research Abstract |
The Yushima temple of Confucius was built in the Edo first half year by Tokugawa shogunate government. When I study a Confucian picture, the study on the sacred image arranged in the "Daiseiden" temple of Confucius is very important. My study began with the investigation of a work of art related to Yushima temple of Confucius first. And I squeezed the object of the study in "the picture for worship", "the picture which belonged to Confucianism", "the picture which influence was seen in of the Zen Buddhism". And I concluded that expression of Zen Buddhism strongly influenced early modern Confucianism picture.
