Research Abstract |
THIS IS A RESEARCH ON “GYOSON", WHO WAS A MONK IN “ONJOJI" TEMPLE PRACTICING ASCETICISM IN SACRED MOUNTAINS AND A JAPANESE TRADITIONAL POET. 1. WE MADE A CHRONOLOGICAL LIST OF THE MAIN EVENTS OF GYOSONS LIFE., NOT ONLY FOR DETERMINING THE HISTORICAL EVENTS OF HIM, BUT ALSO FOR CLARIFYING THE LEGEND AND IMAGE OF HIM. WE PICKED UP THE EVENTS RELATED TO HIM, FROM THE DIARIES “DENRYAKU", “CHUYUKI", “CHOSHUKI" AND “EISHOKI" BY THE COURT NOBLES IN THE SAME AGE AS GYOSON, AND THE BIOGRAFHIES “MIIOHJODEN", “JIMONKOSOKI", JIMONDENKIHOROKU", “SHINGONDEN" AND “GENKOSHAKUSHO" WRITTEN BY THE BUDDHIST PRIESTS AFTER GYOSONS DEATH. SEEING THE LIST, WE FOUND OUT THE MAIN JOB OF GYOSON WAS A “GOJISO" DEFENDING AND MAINTAINING THE BODIES AND SOULS OF THE EMPERORS “TOBA" AND “SUTOKU". AND WE FOUND OUT THAT THE MAIN JOB OF GYOSON REGARDED BY THE MONKS WHO SUCCEEDED TO HIS POST WAS THE RECONSTRUCTION OF THE "ONJOJI KONDO" IN 1134. 2. WE FOUND OUT THAT THE JAPANESE TRADITIONAL POEMS WRITTEN BY GYOSON WAS NOT ONLY NOVEL IN SUBJECTS, BUT ALSO SIMILAR IN EXPRESSIONS TO THOSE WRITTEN BY OTHER POETS IN THE SAME AGE. 3. WE FOUND OUT THAT THE MONKS IN “KOFUKUJI" TEMPLE WORSHIPED MT.“KONGO" (ANOTHER NAME FOR “KAZURAKT") IN THE SAME AGE.
