| Research Abstract |
モダニズム文学における身体の表象について、できるだけ整理した見取り図を提示することを試みた。その結果、サミュエル・ベケットとその周辺のモダニスト作家たちに関して、身体の断片化と再編成という中心的テーゼに基づいて分析し、新しい側面をいくつも浮き彫りにすることができた。また、19世紀後半から出現した新しいテクノロジーによって、身体と感覚がどう再編成され、それがモダニズム文学における人間の機械化とどう関係しているかについても多くの洞察を導くことができた。
