Research Abstract |
Zatsusho (『雑書』), diaries of Morioka-han's Karo (盛岡藩家老席), extend about 200 years from Kan-ei (寛永)21 to Tenpo (天保) 11. In addition to the publications of Zatsusho up to now, this research, which aims at contributing to the study of the political history of Morioka-han and the modern history of Japan, has made possible the publications of Vols. 19, 20, 21 of Nikki Zatsusho of Morioka han's Karo (盛岡藩家老席日記雑書) as well as the publication of Shizen mimonki (『自然未聞記』) which compiles the records of Morioka-han's climate from Houreki (宝歴) 4 to 7, prices of commodities, and the state of famines, etc. The clarification of various academic domains including government, economy, and culture, etc., promises the remarkable improvement in the study of the political history of Morioka-han. The publication of Houreki 5 Famine in Morioka-han (『盛岡藩領における宝歴五年の飢饉』) and The Government of Tokugawa Tsunayoshi and the Morioka-han (『徳川綱吉政権と盛岡藩』) are the direct achievements of this research. This research is still to be continued and the Vol.22 of Nikki Zatsusho of Morioka-han's Karo is to be published within the fiscal year of 2008.
