| Research Abstract |
スペイン領マニラは、18世紀末葉までに実質的に開港され、多様な人びとが様々の社会経済活動に従事する場であった。例えば、中国人移民は、マニラの社会経済に重要な役割を果たしたが、政治的には制約を受ける存在であった。その一方、スペイン領フィリピンにおける「公正証書」制度は、人びとの出自を問わず、私権を確定・保証していたため、スペイン総督府の政治的支配とは別に、このような人びとの多様な社会経済活動を担保するものとして機能し、マニラの近代的な都市発展を支えたといえる。
