Research Abstract

The aim of this research is to clarify how western constitutional theories have been receipted and developed in Japan and Taiwan. In 2005, the main theme of this research was "the reception and development of western constitutional law grand theory". And we had a symposium in Tokyo, waseda Univ. on March 2006.
In 2006, our main theme is "the reception and development of western human rights theory". the 2^<nd> symposium was held in Taipei, National Taiwan Univ. on March 2007. The Japanese members who participated were Prof. Emeritus HIGUCHI, Prof. TONAMI, Prof. OKADA, Prof. IMASEKI, Prof. KOYAMA, Prof. NISHIHARA, Prof. ISHIKAWA, Prof. EJIMA, Researcher MATSUDAIRA, Research Assistant. HAZEYAMA.
On this symposium, we reported and discussed the subjects of human rights such as constitutional justice, Drittwirkung, electoral rights, equality, institutionalles grundrechtsverstandnis, international human rights. And the contemporary subjects, including Hinomaru-Kimigayo case, Yasukuni case were dealed with, too.
The results of these research will be published as soon as possible.
