Research Abstract

In this research, a practical and useful controller design procedure based on the frequency shaping which is similar to that in continuous-time domain is constructed. The following two main results are derived.
(1) A novel digital re-design method is proposed.
In the proposed method, the frequency response of a digital control system is matched to a continuous-time system and the stability of a discretized system and a digital controller. Stability conditions of the discretized system and the controller is represented by LMIs and the design problem which is described by LMIs can be solved by an iterative procedure. Performances are verified by some examples. The proposed method is useful for practical uses.
(2) Some controller design methods are proposed.
In order to use digital re-design method, it is required to use appropriate controller design method in the continuous-time domain. For this purpose, two methods are obtained by this research. The first one is the extended H-infinity control design method with pole location constraints. The proposed method is suitable for applications of vibration isolation control problems. Control performances are verified by some experiments by using a mechanical vibration system. The second one is a robust stability analysis and controller design method which reduces so-called conservativeness of guaranteed variations of plants by using conventional robust control design methods.
These results contribute to practical control design technology.
