Research Abstract |
Hyalocyte is concerned with vitreous remodeling by producing extracellular matrix (ECM). So we suppose hyalocyte plays an important role in vitreo-retinal disorders. To prove our hypothesis, we have established new cell-line of hyalocyte from pig vitreous. The concentration of cytokines in the vitreous is changed in various disorders such as diabetic retinopathy, proliferative vitreo retinopathy. This change affects for hyalocyte. So we have examined the change of ECM production by stimulating various cytokines. Also we have studied about regulation of ECM production by adding steroid.
