Research Abstract

βディフェンシンは口腔上皮での細菌防御機構に関与しており、特にβディフェンシン2が、う蝕の病原生菌の増殖を抑制するという報告がある。本研究ではβディフェンシン遺伝子導入による抗う蝕能を検討することを目的とした。研究結果から、βディフェンシン2とβディフェンシン3は唾液腺導管上皮の感染防御機構に関与していることが示唆された。またβディフェンシンは単に抗菌作用のみならず免疫系に関わっているが、本研究により細胞増殖や細胞分化にも関与することが示唆された。
