Outline of Annual Research Achievements

- Project 1: We have finalized the list of SINB2 containing incRNAs (research plan; project2; a) that we want to dissect in detail by analyzing different database analysis. We looked for their expression in different tissues and established cell lines and their involvement in different patho-/physiological functions.
- Project 2: We have established a modified eCLIP protocol (SINE-CLIP) to identify RNA binding protein (RBPs) motif with in SINEB2, FRAM and MirB. We performed seCLIP; single-end enhanced crosslinking and immunoprecipitation assay to determine the specific binding sites of PTBP1 and HNRNPK on SINEUP-GFP RNA.
- Impact of SINEUP research: Dissecting molecular function of SINEUPs will give us better understanding structure activity relationship of RNAs in general. More specifically, it will help us to better understand of role of lncRNAs and their physio-and pathophysiological functions. Apart from basic understanding of lncRNAs biology, SINEUP research also has utmost importance in biotechnology and molecular medicine, especially, in molecular biology tool development, biopharmaceutical productions and last but not least in RNA therapeutics.

We have submitted a manuscript to NAR (resubmission process)
