Outline of Annual Research Achievements

荒川が前年度までに行った研究が世界的な注目を浴び、モスクワのHigher School of Economics、成都のTianyuan Mathematical Center in Southwest China、及びパリのポアンカレ研究所での連続講演を行った。荒川は、これらの他にも世界各地で計16件の国際会議で招待講演を行った。また、2017年度の研究成果として述べた荒川とThomas Creutzig, Andrew Linshawとの共著論文がInvent. Mathから、2018年度の研究成果として述べた荒川とEdward Frenkelとの共著論文がCompos. Math.から出版された他、計4本の査読付き論文が出版された。Valery Gritsenko とAnne Moreauと共に、フランスのリール大学で研究集会「Geometrical and automorphic aspects of W-algebras」を開催し、多数の外国人研究者を招聘し、議論を交わした。

研究面では、(1) W代数の表現論の応用の一つとして、荒川と山田裕理、山内博との共同研究で、 Z_k-code に付随する頂点代数を導入した。当該結果はJ. Math. Soc. Japanから出版予定である。(2) 荒川とAnne Moreau、Cuipo Jiangとの共同研究で、普遍アフィン頂点代数が単純であることと、その随伴多様体がg^*全体となることが同値であることを示した。当該結果はプレプリントとしてarXIvに投稿済みである。(3) Thomas Creutzig、Boris Feignとの共同研究によって、アフィンW代数に対するtranslation関手を導入することに成功した。当該結果は現在論文にまとめている最中である。

Reason

今年度までの研究により、W代数の理解が格段に深まり、物理学を含めた応用の可能性が予想以上に広がっている。特に17年度に解決することができたW代数のコセット構成法に関する予想と、今年度構成に成功したW代数のtranslastion functorを組み合わせることにより、アフィンW代数の表現論だけではなく、4次元超対称性場の量子論に現れる頂点代数の研究にも応用が可能になると期待できる。また、18年度に行ったクラスSカイラル代数の研究は、数学と物理の双方から世界中の注目を浴び、今後の展開が期待されている。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

これまでと同様、W 代数に関する残された未解決問題を解決するとともに, 弦理論を含めたさまざまな応用を視野に置いたW 代数の表現論を展開する.
